Six Documentaries Won the “Golden Ribbon – Impressions of the Silk Road” Outstanding Proposals Award

On February 14, the "2023 Belt and Road Media Community Summit Forum", hosted by China Central Radio and Television and organized by China International Television Corporation, was held in Beijing, and the results of the "Golden Ribbon - Impressions of the Silk Road "outstanding proposal selection results. The selection focused on the theme of the 10th anniversary of the "Belt and Road" initiative, and received 95 proposals from 15 countries/regions, including China, Japan, Iran, Nepal, Australia and Sri Lanka. In the end, six proposals, including the documentaries " A World of Creation" (China), " From Mwaka Kogwa to Nowruz" (Iran), " China (Shunde) Forever Home" (China), "Sunrise" (China), " Ping Pong Life" (Japan), and " Mwakegu. Keeping it Alive" (Nepal),.

 

Nine international jury members from China, the United States, Italy, Malaysia, Sudan and other countries were invited to this selection. These experts and scholars, well-known directors and senior producers selected six winning proposals from 33 finalists after strict screening. The jury members generally agreed that the winning proposals had given full play to the role of the "image of the times", focusing on the good life and material culture of people in countries along the "Belt and Road", promoting the value of civilization exchange along the Silk Road and interpreting the concept of the community of human destiny.

The proposals included many hot topics such as folk customs, art and humanities, animals and nature, science and technology innovation, urban and rural construction of countries along the "Belt and Road". The overall proposals presented a richer creative perspective and expression, and it can be seen that the "Belt and Road" initiative has been deeply integrated into the lives and work of people in the countries and regions along the route, which also provides a more three-dimensional and diversified imagination space for the creation of proposals. The winning proposals are also more innovative and new in terms of keeping pace with the development of the times and major themes, and going deeper into the daily lives of countries along the Silk Road.

 

This year, the "Golden Ribbon" continues to develop in a new way, and for the first time, the "Creation Support Fund" has been established to support the production and dissemination of outstanding ideas. Relying on this innovative initiative, the Community will continue to improve the supporting mechanism, enhance the complementary advantages of members and win-win cooperation, further stimulate the creative drive and execution in a way that is more suitable for market cooperation and development, and expand more space for deeper exploration of the value potential of works.
