The First "Chinese Content Global Communication Forum" was Successfully Held During the Hong Kong International Film & TV Market

On 14 March, the first "Chinese Content Global Communication Forum", organised by the Department of International Cooperation of the State Administration of Radio and Television, co-organised by the Information Office of Zhejiang Provincial Government and Zhejiang Provincial Radio and Television Bureau, and hosted by the China (Zhejiang) Film and TV Industry International Cooperation Zone and Phoenix Satellite Television, was held during the Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (Filmart). With the theme of "Sharing China's Stories with the World through Audiovisual Media", the forum brought together media executives and creative teams from Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao, the United States and South Korea to share information, exchange experiences, enlighten each other and discuss the future on the new situation and development of international dissemination and cooperation of Chinese language content. The Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong, the International Department of the State Administration of Radio and Television, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the China TV Arts Council, the China Radio and Television Hong Kong Correspondent Station, the Propaganda Department of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee, the Department of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee, the Zhejiang Radio and Television Bureau, the Shandong Radio and Television Bureau and other relevant organisations, as well as major domestic and foreign media organisations and nearly 150 people attended the forum .

 

In the roundtable discussion, Xie Ying, Vice President of Youku, Ren Xu, General Manager of Mango TV's Copyright Centre, Li Lu, Director of the TV series "The World of People", Yang Lei, Director of "Three Bodies" and Zhang Zhuo, Director of "Where the Wind Blows", Zhong Shujia, Director of TVB Studio 77 Limited and Wang Zheng, General Manager of Yawen Media, discussed the theme of "Opportunities and Challenges of International Distribution of Chinese Language Content in the Streaming Media Era".

 

The participants expressed that audiovisual programmes are an important vehicle for telling the Chinese story and spreading the Chinese voice. As China's comprehensive national power and international status continue to rise, the demand for Chinese films and TV dramas in overseas markets is getting higher and higher, and the overseas influence of Chinese content and culture has increased significantly. The strong desire to further strengthen cooperation and jointly promote the international dissemination of Chinese language content was expressed by all.

 

Three years in the making, the 27th Filmart returns from 13-16 March, which combines exhibition, launch, seminar and exchange, and is the largest cross-media, cross-industry film and entertainment trade fair in Asia. The event attracted over 700 exhibitors from 30 countries and regions, with exhibitors from Mainland China accounting for nearly half of the total number of exhibitors, the highest ever.
