It is surrounded by mountain and waters, south to Taihu Lake Rim, downstream of the Yangtze River, 20 km from Hangzhou downtown. It has a beautiful name -- Liangzhu. Together with Ancient Egypt Civilization, Sumerian Civilization and Harappan Civilization, it is located 30 degrees north latitude. The saint place proving the 5,000-year Chinese civilization. 1936, Mr. Shi Xingeng occasionally found and uncovered mysterious Liangzhu Civilization. Since then, archaeological excavations of Liangzhu have contributed countless surprises. From 1986 to 1987, separately in Fan Mountains and Yao Mountains, two highest-class large tombs of Liangzhu civilization in late Chinese Neolithic Age had been founded. 1991, the large-scale palace site at Mojiaoshan Mountains was found. From 2006 to 2007, Liangzhu Ancient City was formally founded, occupying about 3 Km2. 2015, the water conservancy around Liangzhu Ancient City was excavated, measured and proved to be with about 5,000-year history. 1994, 2006 and 2012, Liangzhu Site was separately included in the tentative World Heritage List, reported to UNESCO by Chinese government. 2018, Liangzhu Ancient City Site formally applied for the World Cultural Heritage item. In July 2019, at the 43rd World Heritage Conference, Liangzhu Ancient City Site was made the world heritage. 5,000 years ago, the land was the highland of civilization. Liangzhu Realm is the earliest state civilization proved on the land of China, up to now. Starting from this civilization, we move forward, develop with inclusiveness, and create the endless history of Chinese civilization.
