The signing of the document took place during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Russia
The Russian news agency TASS and the Chinese news agency Xinhua have signed a renewed cooperation agreement. The document was signed by TASS Director-General Sergey Mikhaylov and Fu Hua, head of Xinhua.
The signing of the document took place during Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to Russia. "In my opinion, the signing of the document is quite timely, as this year has been declared the Year of Russian-Chinese Cooperation in Physical Education and Sport. Our photo exhibition, which we invented and developed together, will definitely take place this year. We are going to visit China after the high visit [of the Chinese President] to Russia. It’s been a while since we last visited due to known circumstances, so we're grateful for the official invitation," the TASS Director-General said.
"The exchange of delegations between our agencies promotes mutual understanding and exchange of experience. <…> This year we expect two major events. In August, the BRICS Media Forum will be held in South Africa. <…> In November, the World Media Summit will kick off in Beijing. I would like to congratulate TASS on the election of Moscow as the next venue for the assembly," the Xinhua head pointed out.
