On 7 April 2023, the UHD World Association (UWA) signed a memorandum of understanding with its member company Explorers of France in Beijing to license 16 documentaries shot in 8K to the UWA. These documentaries will be broadcast on Chinese TV channels, Internet TV platforms, IPTV platforms and terminal devices. Mr. Olivier Chiabodo, CEO of Explorers, one of the 60 executives of the French presidential delegation to China, presented these 16 documentaries to China as a national gift from France, greatly promoting cultural and technological exchanges between France and China.

According to the MOU signed between the two parties, the UWA authorised Explorers France to use HDR Vivid to fine-tune the colour of UHD sources and Audio Vivid to enhance the sense of space, distance and orientation of sound, creating a more immersive audio and visual experience. In the presence of Jiang Wenbo, Chairman of UWA and member of the editorial board of CCTV, representatives of UWA members and media reporters, Zhang Wengang, Secretary General of UWA, and Mr. Olivier Chiabodo, CEO of Explorers, France, signed the contract on the spot. The two sides were also interviewed by more than 10 media outlets, including People's Daily, CCTV News and Communication World.

Jiang Wenbo said that the documentary part provided by Explorers has been produced in 8K+HDR Vivid, which is also the first application of UWA standards overseas, which is a good start. The UWA will actively support Explorers in the production and distribution of UHD programmes using the UWA technical standards such as HDR Vivid, Audio Vivid and XR Vivid Fusion UHD production. This cooperation will greatly promote cultural exchange between France and China, especially on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and China next year, and will enable the people of France and China to better understand each other's culture, contributing to the friendship between the two countries and their people.
